My first blog written on Blogger IPad, I have been waiting for the release of this app for days, simple but easy using, while still trying to figure out how to view the blogs I followed.
And Yes, I have four incoming exams next week, so exiting! That's why I have stopped blogging these days. I am moving to campus today, live in friends dorm for several days, and probably, I am going to try the overnight room in Library, or, I have to....
I will see you guys when Dec comes, happy Movember! Btw.

Why Using Summer/Daylight Saving Time? Thoughtful Ponder Behind This Artificial Change
Hi guys, it has been a long time since the last time I posted, and yes, I remember my words in one of my post days ago, namely, A Flash of Idea About Blogging, in which I promised I would keep blogging 1-2 times a week, so if you are a regular reader of my blog and able to do the primary school mathematics, you will found that I haven't posted anything for 2 weeks in a row, last one for the host stuff doesn't count at all.
I have been feeling shameful for several days and it's just getting worse and worse when you cannot walk your talk. But have some mercy on me, the only reason I became a munchausen is because I lost my laptop charger and adapter!
I don't want to dig too deep on how I lost my precious babies, it was really a long story, the thing is the lid of my laptop has been closed for 4 days, and, I feel great!
No need to worry about the procedure of the projects, no need to check the mails and do any software related work for my internship, no need to spend a lot of time wandering around web while doing nothing, no need to....(I can still check mails on my iPad and surf internet on it, but it's less likely for me to reply the mails on my iPad, and I can become quite reading effective on my iPad)...It just felt so right, and I suddenly earned myself several hours one day, since I slept early everyday and got up like an early bird, I got plenty of time doing what I like to do, cooking for my girlfriend, reading in the balcony, keep running and jogging at night in AMK park(Yes, as I promised, I am still on track implementing my daily working out plan!).
It's like I have created a Daylight Saving Time for myself! Awesome.
When Benjamin Franklin first initiated this kind of idea, he was meant to save energy and make people more efficient in summer time when sun rises earlier.
The benefits of DST are decreased electricity consumption, a slight drop in the number of traffic accidents and crime. In addition to that, DST increases recreational time in the afternoons and boosts economy. The disadvantage are minor compared to the advantages. Some prefer not to change the clocks twice a year. However, there are also actual costs as well as gains. According to a academic study in 1999, the spring and fall time changes costs 60 billion US dollars to investors. The adjustments make individuals "slightly impaired" according to the researchers. The 1986 DST extension in the US benefited Barbecue Industry Association, the American Association of Nurserymen and convenience-store owners by 135 billion US dollars (Brearton, 2011). With these figures DST is a gold mine. Below is a categorized presentation of the pros and cons of daylight saving time.
And I was always fascinated by the concept of the Daylight Saving Time, so let's talk about it by dividing into the pros and cons:

And I was always fascinated by the concept of the Daylight Saving Time, so let's talk about it by dividing into the pros and cons:
1. Daylight saving time decreases residential electricity usage.
2. DST decreases the number of traffic accidents.
3. DST reduces crime.
4. DST increases recreational time.
5. DST increases economic activity.
6. Daylight saving time brings a smile to everybody's faces by providing more light and sunshine.
For the Cons,
1. The change to DST may disturb the rest-activity cycle.
2. DST increases fuel consumption hence atmospheric pollution.
All in All, the concept of DST is great, and it does a great help for the development of certain area. The pity is, for a country like China, which crosses three time blocks, it's almost impossible to implement this method, considering the commercial and social disorders and mess it may trigger. That's why the government put a stop for DST years ago.
Anyway, for individuals, never count on any system to be time efficient, as long as you have the right time management skills, the gold won't treat you bad, and TIME MANAGEMENT is something I am learning now, will share with you guys when I get something inspiring, to be continued...

My HOST file problem, when you can not receive request from certain servers
I have been blocked from Google.com and Facebook.com for days, though I can still use most of the applications from Google.com.sg, the Gmail, unfortunately, can be only accessed though google.com's server, that hurts!
Finally turned out my host file was rewritten by some anonymous guy--I tried dozens of ways to fix the system problem, just ignored the simplest one, shame.
I will reserve my right if you are doubting it's because I am watching too many porns in my laptop, that's.....not true.
Cannot talk too much now, since everything back on track now, will post my long-drafted blog soon, looking forward...to be continued

[PLAN] WALK THE TALK! Start Working Out Again
Notes: This gonna be the first post of my long term 'PLAN' series.
One day I was in a frantic rush on the way to the office, the 132 bus passed me by with an speed of sound(you would have the same imagination when you got a same situation like mine), it then was about to stop in the nearest stop (around 80 meters away from where I stood at that time), 'Go and get it!', I made up my mind and start chasing after that big boy with an ultrasonic velocity! Then, after 40 meters I gave up(Yes, I was that good, please don't judge me), the bus still seemed so far way and getting far and far and far away after the throttle loose...
And it was like I just finished a marathon(though I was never in a marathon, or even half marathon), I was totally exhausted after 40 meters' all-out sprint, what a shame.... What happened to me?!
I used to be one of the gym bunnies(straight way), since my fresh year of college, I paid to the fitness club every month, and from the junior year, I started to work out and follow the fitness menu systemically every other day or even successively. It did 'work out' as it successfully reshaped my body, I was no longer a meat ball as I used to be in the last 20 years. Watching your own body 'reconstructing' was so awesome, and I was addicted literally.
If there is something I can blame to for my fall, it must be my meniscus surgery, I had it on April this year, and had to take a long rest without any physical activity for almost two months. After that, I became so cautious and getting more and more used to the days without the full of sweat body building, running, push ups, bench press, tons of barbells, while at the same time I still ate like an elephant!
Since I came to Singapore, there is even more excuses facilitated me to evade:
- The Gym was so expensive even in campus. True.
- I lost my swimming trunk, and it was unreasonably expensive to buy a new one. True.
- The girls in the other room in my apartment occupied every single space in the living room, how can I do push ups when I can hardly stand?! True.
- I was just too busy and had my two hands full already, I got an interesting part time work off campus which I always pushed myself to follow the business stuff even after office time(I cannot help myself check the Gmail every 2-3 hours, it must be a modern mental disease), I got another assistant work in campus for CELC NUS. In the same time, I got 4 modules(normally need 5 hours to get fully prepared and one extremely time consuming and complicated project. And it took me one hour at least to go to office or campus in most of the time. I just had no time. True.
Looks like I am really a busy guy, huh? But am I really so busy that I cannot even squeeze a 10 mins for exercise? NO WAY!
I read a really funny article from TIME magazine several days ago, introducing how the vice president candidate Paul Ryan steels several minutes a day from his super busy schedule to implement his own working out plan, like this:
I am not a pro to either Obama team or Romney team, but I do admire Paul Ryan for his 'WALK THE TALK' spirit, how can I keep finding myself excuses after seeing a politic actually doing something practically?
So from two days ago, I have made a list for my long term 'WORKING OUT NEVER DIE!' plan, here it is:
- Never use the escalator when you can mount the stairs!
- No food after 8pm!
- Take a 30 mins jogging in AMK park every other day(Which I have done once last night).
- Groups of push ups and other no-fitness-equipment moves on the those no-jogging days(which I just did it half an hour ago).
- Stretch myself from time to time when working or studying.
This is going to be a long term and I will keep blogging about it to let you know how good it works out.
Like flowing water, life is perpetual movement!True!
