How To Look Busy at Work While you actually...

Unless you are working for yourself or you are a sales person who get full commission by closing deals without any basic salary, you will find this post useful as if you have a vague job description, a haphazard workload, and a very strict boss who is only content when you look busy, and doesn't realize or care that you are so efficient that you completed your work early. Well, below are some pieces of instructions I have collected so far to help you look busy at work. #装JB忙#

  •  Make sure your task bar is cluttered with open programs. Also make sure that your browser has multiple tabs open.
  •  Keep a hard and soft copy of an Excel spreadsheet, and make sure it has lots of numbers and graphs that no one but you can understand. Pull it up when someone walks by and take it with you whenever you go somewhere.
  • Frequently glance at your watch during meetings or when someone is talking to you. After all, you have places to be and people to see.
  • Keep a hidden stash of used cuisine box. When you get back from lunch, make sure no one is looking and put a couple on your desk. You just don't have time to take a lunch.
  • Sigh often. Blow the air out of your lips and flare out your cheeks. Always accompany with a weary look!!!
  • Set the screensaver to never.
  • Move your chair to an open and away from the desk position like you quickly left for a meeting.
  • Place a spare set of keys or a spare wallet on the desk next to the keyboard. Place a file folder with papers open on desk. Write something, stop mid sentence, and drop the pen or pencil on the document.
  • Never walk without a document in your hands.
  • Have lengthy personal conversations away from your work space. This is Knowledge Sharing and Internal Communication!
  • Visit friends in different departments, leaving your workspace very "busy" looking.
  • Drink lots of water.

But, if you are following some of the instructions above constantly, you may also want to consider looking for a new job rather than continuing the daily charade of pretending to be busy.

My favorite method was to actually Find a job I like, Actually do it and keep busy doing real work. Works every time and makes you feel good for some strange reason. I am saying so because I mean it, not because I can not afford the risk that my boss may accidently visit my blog. #True#
